The 12 Omeganauts left gathered in the PC free play area for a fifteen minute round of Quake III. Audience members were watching in another room as the match was broadcast from the top player’s perspective. The game started and had to be reset once due to a glitch, which caused higher tensions.

The top 5 spots were constantly changing but consistently the same people. Some people are just absolutely amazing at FPS games and this round required an amazing amount of skill to succeed.

After fifteen minutes the results were displayed. Quake III was immediately nick-named "The lady killer" because the last three girls in the competition held the bottom three spots.

The 8 with the most frags moved onto the concert round of the competition.
