Last Friday a short video of gameplay from what was listed as a PC-specific version of Gears of War was released onto Gamevideos. Shortly thereafter, the video was removed and no mention made of it ever having been posted could be found! Fortunately for us all, people are very quick with their AV capturing programs, and the video can be seen here and here, depending on your fancy. The youtube and google video versions are missing a large portion of the PC-centric content, however it does display some new gameplay footage of a Brumak boss fight (which was probably cut from the 360 release), along with some glimpses of new maps.
Surprised? If you've been following Epic Games' or Microsoft's business models for any real amount of time, you shouldn't be! Microsoft would be incredibly foolish not to bring as many tripple-A 360 exclusive titles to the PC as possible. That means you can be sure to see Mass Effect, among other games, out on the PC as well.
Furthermore, Epic games has since it's inception been a PC developer only, hiring out talent like Digital Extremes to develop their previous console releases. Also, the Unreal 3 Engine was developed for PCs in the first place, and initial tech-demos of the engine made use of Gears content. With Epic's long standing and well deserved reputation as a solid and extremely successful developer for the PC, it's only natural that their most successful title would see a PC release. The same goes for other companies that have long since been PC-developers, like Irrational Games (BioShock), BioWare (Mass Effect), etc.
