Ken Rolston, veteran game developer, RPG designer, beret enthusiast and one of the masterminds behind Bethesda Softworks' masterpieces Morrorwind and Oblivion, has opted to join Big Huge Games! The move comes as a surprise to just about everyone, as Rolston was expected to retire from the industry after finishing Oblivion.
Rolston: "A chance to work on a Big Huge Game with Big Huge Games? Who could resist?" said Rolston. "I had planned to retire and rest on my laurels after Oblivion, but Tim and his army of visionary charmers came along with a strikingly original and cunning concept for a console RPG…so now I'm back in the harness and chomping at the bit!"
BHG is known more for their line of Rise of Nations/Legends RTS titles, however it seems they must have a thoroughly exciting RPG in the works to pull Rolston away from a well deserved retirement. Let's hope Bethesda's future Elder Scrolls titles don't suffer due to the lack of Rolston's experience in their development.
