The only
Fallout in Rockville, MD today is the
$300 million investment
Bethesda Softwork's parent company
Zenimax received from
Providence Equity Partners!
Developers! It's time to get your pitches honed and darken the
Zenimax doorstep as they are flush with cash to support projects across their various divisions from well known
Bethesda Softworks arm to the newly created
ZeniMax Online - both of which are working on
Fallout related properties.
Zenimax is indeed a company to be reckoned with. With a solid standing on their
Oblivion franchise now reaching across all the major console platforms as well as PC, a strong showing at
E3 this year with
Fallout 3 (in development for a Fall 2008 release) and the recent kickstart into the online space with the opening of
ZeniMax Online - not to mention a star-studded
Board of Directors -
Zenimax is the one to watch for 2008.
“
We are pleased to partner with one of the best managed companies in the videogame industry,” said
Michael Dominguez, a Managing Director of
Providence. “
ZeniMax Media has an outstanding series of proven interactive entertainment content and a burgeoning position in the rapidly growing global video game market. We look forward to working with Robert (Altman - Chairman and CEO, Zenimax) to build value at ZeniMax Media over the long-term.”
Look for some of this infusion to fund further expansion into external development and possibly, we think, acquisition.
