A lot of
Unreal Tournament 3 in the news this week - new screenshots - system specs announced for PC - and a potential delay for the PS3 version. Read on!
Let's get the goodies out of the way first - click the image above when you're ready and you can check out one of
two new screens released today alongside the
system specs Midway and
Epic are recommending for the
PC version of
UT3:
Minimum System Requirements • Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
• 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
• 512 Mbytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
Recommended System Requirements • 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
• 1 GBytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
We're guessing those recommended specs may be a bit light on the
RAM side but as
UT3 is multiplayer driven title you could easily get away with less than an
Nvidia 8800 GTX and enjoy the game.
Meanwhile, across town
Midway is
revising their fiscal estimates for the third quarter based on the late delivery of
Stranglehold for
PS3 and the need to delay the
PS3 version of
UT3. But hold right there - in response
Mark Rein has
posted on the official
Epic forums stating that they're still going to try and get the PS3 version out this year.
So - your guess is as good as ours at this point. Could be this year - could be next - we'd prefer - when it's done!
I'd prefer never! ;)
