Ubisoft Says Goodbye to StarForce Adding themselves to a growing list (Aspyr Media and Stardock), Ubisoft has decided to abandon the use of the StarForce copy protection system in the soon available Heroes of Might and Magic V, and every other PC title they put out. Ever. You see, the copy-protection program has been accused of putting gamers' computers at risk, so the gamers opted to sue Ubisoft for 5 million dollars.
StarForce, however, denies these claims and even offered $10,000 to anyone who could actually prove that the program had done damage. I thought I'd email them and tell 'em that knowing that their program was in Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, caused me to throw my computer out the window, though I don't know why. Heck, I could use ten thousand dollars.
