DS Lite Launch Day in Japan: Sold Out
Now you see it, now you don't. The release of the DS Lite in Japan today was terribly reminiscent of a very recent console release in America. Hundreds lined up to get their hands on one, and now...now they are gone. This may have something to do with the fact that they had to cut back two of the expected colors right before launch (the Enamel Navy and the Ice Blue are scheduled to launch on the 11th), but the DS has been having stock issues in Japan since before Christmas.
During the month of March Nintendo plans
to ship 450,000 of the Lite and 200,000 of the original. Probably not going to cut it. We were kinda hoping to see the Lite in the U.S. by May. Too bad for us.
