TMNT Movie License: Dear Ubisoft, Handle With Care

They're heroes in a half-shell and they're green! A piece of me died when they changed that song. R.I.P. piece of me. Sorry, you're expecting the news…here you go: Ubisoft acquired the license for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Movie.

After the Konami games did so poorly on the sales charts it Ubisoft swept in and snagged the license for the film and according to Chris Salomon, Director of Licensing for Ubisoft, the game will "attract both the first generation of enthusiasts all the way through to the current and future generations of fans". The movie, to be released in early 2007, will be fully CG animated is said to be darker than the previous 3 films, revisiting the franchise's comic book roots. Turtle power!
