..deformable terrain was something the team definitely wanted in.  This included structures, such as the bridges on Wake Island, whose destruction could have heavily altered the play style of the maps.  Imagine losing the bridge on Wake Island, almost ensuring the ability of the Japanese to take either peninsula.
