Arx Fatalis Review | PC

PC gamers have gotten their fair-share of kickass RPGs this year, Neverwinter Nights, Morrowind, Divine Divinity, and Icewind Dale II included. So it is safe to assume that Arx Fatalis comes out at a time when it could be easily overshadowed by other higher profile titles. Nevertheless, Arkane Studios has been laboring away undiscouraged, and the end result is an interesting, immersive first-person dungeon crawler that not only pays homage to Ultima Underworld from the end of last century, but introduces enough innovation and attention-grabbing myth to stand on its own with the big boys in the genre.
